Red Ribbon Meats Ltd opened its doors in 1965 as a retail / wholesale butcher shop located in North Vancouver, B.C. by my Grandfather Mr. Jack Mandelman Sr.
Jack learned his butchering skills from the largest wholesale meat company in Vancouver, Pacific Meats. Which was owned by my Uncle Mr. Jack Diamond.
My Father Allan and Uncle Marvin began working at Red Ribbon Meats and eventually took over the retail / wholesale Butcher shop. After many successful years serving the community of North Vancouver, they closed shop and relocated in Richmond B.C.
This is where I began my journey in the Wholesale Meat Business at the tender age of 5. I would eagerly get up every morning at 5 am to head to work with my father Allan. After school, winter and summer holiday's you could find me at work with my father.
My Parents, Allan & Rhonda took over the company in 1986, by the age of 17, I was on my way to being fully trained in all aspects of the family business.
In 2003, I purchased the Family Business from my parents, I restructured the business and recently purchased & built our new facility located in Surrey B.C.
We supply High Quality Canadian AA & AAA Beef, Chicken, Lamb and Pork to Restaurants, Pubs, and Institutions throughout the Lower Mainland & Vancouver Island.

HACCP (HAZARD ANALYSIS CRITICAL CONTRO POINTS) CERTIFICATION PROGRAM that is Recognized by WHO (World Health Organization) and the CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency)
HACCP Certification is an International Standard for the effective control of FOOD SAFETY in the Food Production & Preparation, Food and Drug Administration and the Department of Agriculture.
It is a Document that Certifies and Recognizes that a Food Business has Developed a Food Safety Management System based on a scientific approach to Analyze and control hazards in the food chain.
(Hazard can be biological, chemical, or physical.)
The program includes the ability to Recall & Trace all product purchased by & sold by Red Ribbon Meats (1990) Ltd.
To become HACCP Certified a company must first develop a written HACCP Safety Standards Program. This program is overseen by a
Third Party management company. Upon successful audit the company is granted a HACCP Certificate. Red Ribbon Meats has been Certified by SGS Canada Inc. The Food Safety Quality Assurance Audit is performed annually by SGS Canada Inc.
These Audits ensure the Safety of the Worlds Food Industry.
